Let’s Go Church Spotting – Part 2, Adolf Fredrik

28 May

This Sunday me and my fiancé went to Stockholm C for some photographing and shopping. Andreas bought himself a new camera last week, so he felt the urge of getting out taking some photos. Well, me too! Especially since we visited a church and some lovely gardens.

First of all we went church spotting again. This time we went to Adolf Fredrik Church located in the city, beside Sveavägen. The church was built 1768 – 1774 and replaced a wooden chapel that was standing on that ground before.

There are some famous persons buried here on the church grounds. Prime minister Olof Palme, who was assassinated in 1986 has his tomb here, also the prime minister and founder of the Swedish Social Democratic Party, Hjalmar Branting. Two very prominent persons in Sweden, be sure you read about them. Very interesting indeed.

Let’s Go Church Spotting On A Sunny Day – Church Of Salem/Sthlm

12 May

My friend from the south of Sweden came to visit us this weekend, and it happened he wanted to see the church here in Salem, so we went there to take a look.

The church is one of the oldest in Sweden, descending from the 12th century. Such a beautiful church and the surroundings by the lake is magnificent!

Isn’t it just beautiful? (Click on the pics to enter the gallery for a closer look)

Weekly Photo Challenge: Pattern

12 May

Water front

This weeks challenge is pattern. Yesterday I was at the beach and thought of the pattern that the waves make in the sea, but also the pattern that are in the sand after the water movements.

This picture I took a year ago, in early June. I just love the ocean/sea. To see more patterns, check this out!

Today’s Make-up – How To Emphasize Blue Eyes

10 May

A great light milk brown matte eye shadow on the upper lid, working a slightly darker shadow up and out towards the brow . Then a wet sharp brush with some rusty red eye shadow, draws a eye liner on the upper and lower lid, framing the blue eye. Put some black pencil liner in the water line and then some heavy black mascara. Voilá!

Vintage Style Coffee Shop

3 May

This weekend we visited one of our favourite coffee shops. Cosy little place, in an old house. Feels like home!

Today’s Make-up – Orange Chocolate

1 May

Not really today’s make-up, but yesterdays. 😉 Used a orange colour on the upper lid and then added some matte chocolate shade in the crease and on the outer part of the lid + on the lower eye lid I used a brown/black shade. Also used a black liquid eye liner on the upper lid + black eye pencil liner in the water line, ending up with a heavy black mascara.

This Babe Bought New Red Summer Shoes

1 May

Bought a new pair of lovely summer shoes a couple of days ago, and I swear they are the most comfortable summer shoes I ever owned! At the first gaze I found them rather frumpy, and made for old ladies, but then again – I tried them on and got stuck. Learned to love them in less than 10 minutes. Not frumpy; but cute! And very 50’s teenage fashion!

The brand is Original Marstrand, that I think is more of a old Swedish brand that are mostly made for boat people. Marstrand is a town in the west of Sweden, one of the west coast’s most prestigious communities as far as I know. An American equivalent could be Southampton, New York, but I really dunno… Never been in either place, so what do I know really. 😉 But the feel of it is kinda the same.

What do you think? Frumpy, or just cute?
